Logo Design Brief
We are a husband and wife team looking to launch a small mixed-spices business. We will source spices from across the globe, mix them to my wife's family recipes, then package them in beautiful packaging.
The brand is 'Suania Spices'. My wife's name is Suania. Our website will be Suania.com.
We have created a whole brand architecture which we are happy to share. Please see PDF attached.
The branding must be beautiful, BUT simple. Simplicity is at the heart of the brand. We will make it easier for people to cook more flavoursome meals. The brand identity therefore needs to be classic, but more importantly, SIMPLE and CLEAN. No fiddly bits! (Think Apple).
The identity must be easy to recognise from a distance on shelf.
There will be a heavy focus on web and mobile in our marketing, so the logo must be able to work on an App Icon (Think Boooking.com).
PACKAGING: We are thinking that the packaging will be high quality paper, with a foil representation of the logo. In addition we want the logo to work as a "cut through" on the packaging to reveal the vibrant spice colour within.
COLOURS: We want the logo to work in many colours. All the colours should be inspired by the bold colours of spices & herbs - Chilli Reds, Tumeric Yellows, Mint Greens etc.
NB: In considering the logo design, it is mandatory that one element of the logo can be used in the development of a "repeatable pattern". By this we mean, if we were to produce an apron or a dish-cloth, that an element of the logo will work as a pattern, if repeated in a classic, yet simple way (Think Orla Kiely pattern).
Finally, please see examples of "reference logos that we really like, for either their simplicity, their classic nature, or their use of colour.
NOTE`: We do NOT want a typical Indian style logo. There can be elements that are inspired by Indian design elements, but 'twee / obvious / typical" Indian design references should be avoided at all costs.
Wishing you the best of luck! Whomever is chosen will become our design partner going forward (packaging, pos, web etc. So please take the care to think strategically.
The tagline is:
"COOK WITH ME"
So please develop a version of the logo with, and with out the tagline.
