I think ubuntu font works fine but any other suggestions are welcome, as long as the font style is not italic or too thin.
The idea of a mask works, I don't like the one that we currently have. If you have any other idea other than a mask, of course is most welcomed.

I don't pretend people designing logos in five minutes and you can't pretend me providing feedback in the same amount of time.
In order to provide feedback I need to take my time, think about the proposal and try to understand it better.

In your case, you didn't even spend 5 minutes putting together a description for your concept. What kind of feedback can I give you?
