In your original logo the x is small and hovering over the right side of the Q. Does the x need to be small in the new logo or is it up to the designer. 

Good pickup, the original concept was IQ (intelligence) to the power of x hence IQx. We aren''t that passionate about the small x and want to leave this open for all creative ideas. Hope this helps, good luck.
