Logo Design Brief
I provide a free rescue service for cats that get stuck in trees. Some cats do not know how to climb down, and they will stay in the tree until they jump, fall, die, or are rescued. Typically, I climb the tree using ropes and then work to secure the cat in a number of ways depending on how cooperative the cat is. I may entice the cat into a carrier with food, scruff it into a bag, scoop it into a net, snare with a catch-pole, etc. I do this for free because I love cats, hate suffering, and I love to see the relief on both the cat and its owner when I safely return the cat to the owner's arms. All the information about my service, as well as stories and videos of some of my rescues, is available on my website, catrescueguy.com.I would like a logo that represents this service. Ideally, I want something that conveys the pitiful predicament the cat is in and the desperation that he feels while, possibly, also showing the promise of imminent rescue, perhaps, with outstretched hand(s) reaching up for him, for example. Ideally, I would like the viewer to feel empathy for the cat and relief that rescue is coming, both tension and resolution. If you look at the still pictures of some of my rescue stories on my website, you will see some pity-evoking images, especially the rescues for Kitty, OrangeJello and Cake. But since this is probably too much to ask for in a simple logo, I am also open to something much simpler that at least conveys the essential point that I rescue cats in trees, or even more simply, a cat in a tree. Something very simple and lighthearted might be more appropriate. I have a friend in another state who provides the same service, and he designed his own logo which you can see at rescuemycat.org. I like his design for its simplicity, but I am also open to something more complicated.Perhaps, what I envision is exactly the wrong thing to look for in a logo. I am open to any other designs or ideas that totally ignore the ideas I expressed above. You are the logo experts, so if you have better ideas, I welcome them. I don't mind being surprised with something totally unexpected.
