Logo Design Brief

We are a tax preparation business that also does bookkeeping and payroll. This family business was started in 1956 and 3 years ago we moved from the basement of the founders home into an actual office space. We grow a little each year and are looking for a more professional image while still keeping the family feel. Most of our advertising has been word of mouth, but we are looking for something to be used in future print ads as well as letterhead, envelopes, and possibly a website. Looking for something that will look good both in color or in grayscale when added to printouts and invoices. Initially leaning toward something with four boxes where the boxes diagonal from each other would be the same color and somehow incorporating the letter "D", maybe dissecting each of the four boxes, however this is not a requirement. In font styles we gravitate towards uppercase letters with the first letter of each word larger than the rest. Previous signage and ads have used basic black, white, and red, but we are looking for something new so a new take on colors would be appreciated. Thank you in advance and I look forward to seeing new options.
