"The Architect" is a four piece metalcore (subgenre of metal) band from California who are about to release their first full length album titled "Life-giver." As the theme of the entire album is redemption and new life amidst trials, chaos, and despair, we wanted a visually stunning CD Cover to showcase our message and our music as we begin selling our CD's on tours throughout the West Coast of the U.S.
We wanted the main background or setting of the cover to be a place of isolation or hopelessness. A skyline of ruined, modern buildings creates a gloomy, yet symbolic atmosphere given the intensity of the music and the theme of the album. Other ideas of places or landscapes symbolizing destruction and corruption are welcome.
However, the main point of contrast to this would be a human, male figure, with his back to us, walking towards the end of the skyline or horizon. However, his figure needs to be silhouetted by the background to some extent. Drab, dull colors such as greys, blues, or desert sands tans/browns need to be the main colors, but the presence of this figure visually ushers in a brighter, restoring light as he get closer to the city/destination/end.
We would like it stylized but nothing cartoon-ey. Overall, what should catch the eye is the lightest part of the album: the light that is ushered in by the figure.
The title "The Architect" needs to be larger than the subheading "Life-Giver." It can go anywhere on the cover as long as it doesn't end up on the bottom third. Instead of a hyphen separating "Life" and "giver" we would like a small version of our logo design that is attached to separate the two words like Life / \ Giver but obviously centered.
