Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a new non-profit project building resistance to climate change in Central America. The logo/design will be used for website, marketing materials (e.g. t-shirts), promotional materials, blog etc. Ideally it will be something iconic that people will come to associate with Seres.


Project Seres' mission is to to raise awareness about climate change among vulnerable communities and groups in Central America. The project will provide an educational program that teaches skills and knowledge in sustainable development practices, and empowers individuals and communities with the tools required to both build resilience to climate change and improve their lives. The program will be delivered through an eco-community college, that will incorporate organic agricultural practices, sustainable building techniques, appropriate technology and renewable energy.

The values behind the project are about education for all, poverty alleviation, and living sustainably.
The definition of "Seres" in english is:
An intermediate stage in an ecosystem prior to advancing to the point of being a climax community.
Climax Community: in ecology, a climax community, or climatic climax community, is a biological community of plants and animals which, through the process of ecological succession — the development of vegetation in an area over time — has reached a steady state. This equilibrium occurs because the climax community is composed of species best adapted to average conditions in that area

Target Market(s)

There will be a number of audiences/markets:

1. Foundations/private donors/grant bodies etc. These individuals/organisations will invest/donate money to the project because they have an interest in sustainability, poverty alleviation, climate change, organic living

2. Students - these will be individuals from poor and at-risk communities (generally indigenous) in central america who will attend the college
