Packaging Design Brief

We need a design for Biohansa straw pellet 13 kg bags + company logo. Our end customers are horse and stable owners. Products are available for purchasing from the web and from retail chains. Main markets are Scandinavian states like Finland, Sweden, Norway - so design must be conservative and sharp. Bag must build trust with clear lines, clear readable texts and promote the product. Also various elements must be placed on the bag (EAN code, ecological logo, weight of the bag and other texts.) Bag is made out of plastic flow film, which is melted together to form a bag, so design placement is important. Film and design background is white, You can use additionally 3 colors. Every shade is a color, so 3 colors in total. More design samples and bag pictures you can find as an attachment.

As company also needs a new logo, it should be also designed and placed on the bag. We are distributors of horse stable bedding, horse and small animal feed, household heating products. The logo must be max 3 colors + white as background. Biohansa is the brand name. Design could be described with words: royal, horse, sharp.

Design parameters:

In example file RS MUSTANG.jpg, you can see design area total size, which is 756 x 620 mm. The front of the bag as main display area is 250 x 620 mm. The left and right side of the bag are 100 x 620 mm both. The back consists of 2 pieces 85 x 620 mm. On top there is 57 mm and bottom 67 mm of free space that can be used for text.

Requirements

• Sharp design, less is more, elements described in the description + in added files.
• Design is mostly logo + map + visuals that you come up with, but mostly text placement, font choosing.

Nice to have

• Scandinavian market is very conservative.

Should not have

• Not more than 3 colors + white background. All shades are also colors that count. Package design has printing limits. Colors can not be very bright as neon or others.
