Icon Design Brief

We need an Android app icon (consistent with Google's design guidelines for application product icons) for a system we are developing and marketing. The purpose of the app is to collect data (measurements or other assessments) on trees, shrubs, and the overall ecosystem (soil, climate), with the primary focus on the growth of the trees. The app will improve the traditional approach for data collection by improving the quality of the data and the time between data collection and availability for us by analysts. The plots are either round or square in shape. We prefer colors such as blue, green, grey as the dominant color, but are open to options.

Requirements

Must have

• A creative, but still professional look and feel, as opposed to creative/fun look and feel. Confier (and deciduous) tree or trees and some means of articulating that purpose of the app is associated with measuring primarily trees.
• A material design inspired icon would be great; at least something that would fit in with the rest of the android ecosystem.

Nice to have

• Some integration of the tree (see attached images for the types of trees we typically work with) and the plot (the plot is basically a square or round area established on the ground, where some or all of the trees that are contained within it, are measured.
• Our corporate logo colors include grey (C44%,M36%,Y36%, K2%) and blue (C100%, M84%,Y15%, K5%), and would be nice to incorporate with the other color(s) that are selected.

Should not have

• Overly complex designs with lots of bright colors.
