Logo Design Brief

We need a new company logo for our excavating business. We specialize in road construction, bridge construction and site padding.

We are a third generation, family owned and operated company, hoping to expand our service area in the coming months.

I'm thinking of playing off the F in Floyd for the base of the logo. Also I'd like to incorporate the state somehow. Possibly using the Tennessee State Outline as the lower bar of the F. The East Tennessee State University logo is what gave me the idea. The TN Tri-Star might be good as well. I'm of course open to any other ideas as well.

Looking for something clean, classy and neat. We want something that can be used as letterhead but also on the side of a truck. Navy and tan/khaki are our main colors and most of our trucks are white. We are located in Columbia, TN - this can be incorporated into the logo as well.

Overall the logo needs to give the impression of reliability, expertise and a sense of tradition.
