Logo Design Brief
We are a nonprofit foundation that helps researchers to fund and conduct research in neurofeedback (also known as EEG biofeedback) and other therapies that involve modifying brain activity, such as light and sound machines, transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial direct current stimulation. Our board recently approved the name change from ISNR Research Foundation. Our web page is still www.isnr-researchfoundation.org which you might browse for inspiration.
Updates
Thanks for your work on this project!I have revised the brief with some new information. An early design by a board member included a single neuron (added to the project site) but had at least two problems: it lacked whitespace, and the source & copyright of the neuron itself was uncertain. However, our board liked the general idea of neuron logo designs. Sorry, the one board member organizing the design contest isn't empowered to give ratings and feedback-- the entire board will vote in a survey after the deadline.Originally, one or two board members wanted the new logo to be different from the current one, which includes a brain, brainwaves and a head, see http://www.isnr-researchfoundation.org/ . However, something including a new version of these design elements could still win a majority of votes from the board. Added Wednesday, July 1, 2015

Requirements
Must have
- whitespace (not an image inside a square).
Nice to have
- upbeat and positive. This is a form of therapy, so healing, well-being, and improvement are possible themes, as are psychology, science, and medicine. An early design by a board member included a single neuron (see attached) but had at least two problems: it lacked whitespace, and the source & copyright of the neuron itself was uncertain. However, our board liked the general idea of neuron logo designs. Sorry, the one board member organizing the design contest isn't empowered to give ratings and feedback-- the entire board will vote in a survey after the deadline.
Should not have
- At least one or two board members said it should not include a brain or brainwaves or head, like our current logo, see http://www.isnr-researchfoundation.org/ . However, a design including a brain or brainwave could still win a majority of the board members. I hope we will get at least a few designs in this category to choose from.
