Logo Design Brief
I am looking for speaking, writing, and research opportunities and I need a personal logo for a digital CV/portfolio/blog. Blog topics: learning and the brain, 21st century learner, learning disabilities, learning and media... My doctorate is in learning and leadership. The logo can incorporate the brain, learning, ideas, etc. Logo should be professional and avoid cliché. Not "cartoonish". Text should not overpower.
ADDED: I particularly like the example I uploaded with an apple stylized into a brain. It would also be nice (if it doesn't look to busy) to have the first letter incorporated into the graphic.
ADDED: I uploaded two more examples--I don't want copies of these examples, but they show the mood I am going for as well as creativity. The design doesn't have to have "cogs", but it should combine the brain with clever iconography. I don't want a picture of a brain next to some words. I can do that myself.
Updates
Project Deadline Extended
Reason: I want to extend the deadline because I like more than one of the designs and I want to give my friends and family time to vote on FB. I also hope a few more will come in.

Requirements
Must have
- Elegant style and strong graphics. It should include a brain but a stylized version is preferable--nothing too explicit or literal
Nice to have
- It would be nice to have space for a tagline to be added later. It would also be nice to have a design that can be expanded later for a web banner.
Should not have
- No cliché designs with obvious "educator" iconography such as chalk boards, pencils, etc. unless highly stylized. I don't have a problem with a logo character but it can't be too "cartoonish" The blog is to inform and connect people in the field of education and higher education.
