Logo Design Brief

The logo needs to reflect that the products in the box (literally a box) are made in the tradition of the cottage industry. Meaning, the products are made at home. Even though many producers, have moved to commercial manufacturing facilities, the sprit remains.
The logo will be on the box in full scale, meaning it will cover the box. (appr. 12 inches by 18 inches). The same logo will be on cards and web sites.
I am picturing a very simple almost cartoonish drawing in three parts: on one side is a skyline of a major city, on the opposite side a fruit tree or simplified orchard and in the middle is a house or cottage with a smoke stack rising out of it. The cottage can have other slightly humorous, industrial traits as well. The overall goal of the company is to promote local, healthy and sustainability in food production and consumption.
The design can be a black and white drawing or include lots of colors. I don't know the pros and cons of each. I suppose greenery, flowers and all the life of a vegetable gardens could be good as well.

Target Market(s)

The target market is likely to be foodies and those interested in the idea of locally produced products. Also, to those wishing to learn about a city they plan to visit, or travelers.
