Logo Design Brief

What: Logo design

Place of business: Australia

Business: social/urban planning and research focusing on human dimensions of the built environment.

Services: community and young people facility planning, community and stakeholder engagement, and social research to inform policy development, strategic planning, and decision making for local governments, developers and non-government organisations.

Design brief: simple design, which reflects principles of social planning – social justice, access, equity, participation and rights. For lack of a better word, I would like the logo to be ‘rustic’, while still remaining professional, rather than slick and corporate.

Text based with a simple logo is preferred, but am open to other suggestions.

'Bearings' is the main heading with 'social planning and research' subheading.

Business name rationale: 'Bearings' pays homage to my passion for skateboarding, while it's definitions – ‘the act of enduring' and ‘the act, capability, or period of producing' – relates to social planning and the business philosophy.
