We need a logo to represent our research study. It is a study about how flood insurance affects housing affordability in the City of New York. The not-for-profit research organization RAND Corporation is commissioned by the New York City Mayor’s Office to conduct the study.
The study aims to help the City understand how flood insurance increase may impact New Yorkers living in high-risk flood areas, and to develop programs to improve the affordability of flood insurance in the affected area. The wider goal is to help the local community to become stronger and safer when it comes to flooding.
We would like the logo to communicate that flooding is a real risk in parts of New Work. We also would like the logo to convey a sense home and community. For example, a logo showing a big wave in front of some row houses against the New York skyline as the backdrop may work. But we do not want to be prescriptive here and are completely open to ideas from designers.
The logo should include the name of the study.
The logo will be used on our outreach materials (website, leaflets, etc) for local residents, to inform them of our study and to encourage them to participate in our data collection exercise.
