Web Design Brief
I need a clean, modern and great looking re-design for vacuumwizard.com. We review vacuum cleaners by testing them in various situations and basically offer the most comprehensive vacuum cleaner reviews on the web at the moment.
I would like the site to be very easy for a visitor to get the information they need and ideally decide quickly to buy the vacuum.
I need two types of pages:
1. Homepage and articles
Design headers, line breaks, and blocks of content or advertising in the right column. Typical page: http://www.vacuumwizard.com/dyson-vacuum-cleaners.html
2. Reviews
Current example: http://www.vacuumwizard.com/dyson-dc25-review.html
The information above the fold needs to include:
- rating (up to 5 stars)
- product image
- date
- author
- Facebook, Twitter links
- pros and cons
- price and buying options (typically Amazon.com)
- short text description
- tabs or table of contents that links to: review, ratings, specifications (design the table), user reviews
Very similar to professional review sites like:
http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/Sony-Ericsson-Xperia-arc-Review_id2706
http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/tablets/366862/sony-ericsson-xperia-arc
http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/mobile-phones/sony-ericsson-xperia-arc-review-50002090/
At the end of the review there should be:
- social share buttons (similar to http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/Sony-Ericsson-Xperia-arc-Review_id2706)
- links (optional: with images) to 3 related vacuums (can also be combined with 300x250 advertising block (see above link and http://www.slashgear.com/sony-ericsson-xperia-arc-review-25148107/))
Summary: design me a cool and clean looking review website. I suggest you check out a few of the top websites in phone or laptop niches as they are the most professional. You won't find any in a vacuum niche except www.consumersearch.com which reviews all sorts of products.

Requirements
Must have
- The site must have 2 columns - content on the left and advertising and blocks of content on the right. It must have horizontal navigation.
Example: http://moneysavingmom.com/, http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/Sony-Ericsson-Xperia-arc-Review_id2706, http://www.productreview.com.au/p/brother-bc-2500.html
Design links in the horizontal nav to:
- Best (http://www.vacuumwizard.com/best-vacuum-cleaner.html)
- Wizard (http://wizard.vacuumwizard.com/)
- Compare (no URL yet)
- Reviews By Brands (no URL yet - might have a drop down menu that links to all brands links in the left navigation menu at the moment (Dyson, Miele, etc.))
- Reviews by Types (see above)
- 2-3 more buttons which I may add later
The site must also have:
- breadcrumbs links (see productreview.com site above)
- links to our Twitter, Facebook and Youtube channel
- Google Adsense search box above the fold (can be in the header or below)
Nice to have
- Possibility of 728x90 adsense block in the header or under the header. (but NOT above the header!) Some examples which are also good examples of review sites and layout: http://www.viewpoints.com/Brother-Sewing-Machine-Computerized-CS6000i-reviews, http://www.productreview.com.au/p/brother-bc-2500.html
I also really like the subheadlines in this post: http://www.slashgear.com/sony-ericsson-xperia-arc-review-25148107/ (title and red line underneath - can you do something similar?)
You can use the attached logo or attempt to design a cooler looking one.
