Logo Design Brief

I'd like a logo created for a team of 120 software & system engineers. This team of engineers works tirelessly to balance the availability, performance and agility of a very popular search engine's infrastructure and major user-facing services. They officially go by the name of SRE (Site Reliability Engineering).

This team is essentially split between two offices in Seattle (urban) & Kirkland (suburban). Lake Washington separates the urban & suburban lifestyles and for the most part team members have explicitly chosen which side they want to be on. This is probably obvious but Seattle offers everything a normal city would and the suburbs offer a lot of outdoor activities (i.e. hiking, lakes, skiing, camping, etc..). It would be great to incorporate the two lifestyles into the logo.

We have an office in London and they created a really cool logo that represents them and their location. I'm going to upload it so you can get an idea of what we're after.
