Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for our social group based in the Latrobe Valley (regional Victoria, Australia) called 'Latrobe Young Professionals Inc' (more commonly known as the 'LYP').

The LYP is a group of young (generally under 40) people working to build professional, community and social networks to keep young minds in the region. Our group's key platforms can be found on our website, at http://www.latrobeyp.com.au/#!about/cjg9

Essentially, our group is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers. We aim to attract and retain local young professionals across a range of industries to the region.

Our current logo is dated and in desperate need of a refresh (see attached). We would like to see designs that are young, on trend and/or local inspired. The Latrobe Valley/Gippsland region is a region with a strong-industry base as well as diverse natural beauty (close proximity to snow, bush and beach) see https://www.facebook.com/gippsland. We have no preference for colour/font etc. Logo should incorporate the words 'LYP' 'Latrobe Young Professionals' or both. The final design should communicate something about the region, that we are young AND/OR that we are about connecting/bringing people together.
