Logo Design Brief

Hello, I'm looking for a logo for a website that I'm launching in less than a month. I have a design with sort of a basic logo, but I would like a better logo to create a usable identity for the website. I would like to use it to promote the website on Facebook, other sites, print material, so it needs to be somewhat flexible as far as what background it can be put against. The current logo location has a black gradient background, but I need the logo to work on a white background as well.

The logo needs to be easily incorporated in the current header, and be able to go in the logo's current location with minimal changes to the header layout.

The website is called PhillyGayGuide.com. It has an interactive map of the philly gayborhood and a blog with multiple authors writing about being gay and living in Philadelphia.

I will attach the PSD design file for the site and a screenshot of what is currently under development.
