T-shirt Design Brief
Here is your chance to support human rights and get your designs out in to the world!
Amnesty International is the world’s largest independent human rights organisation. We exist to end human rights abuses and create a just world.
We are completely independent of governments and corporations in our campaigning work.
As part of our public awareness and fundraising activity in Australia we produce a range of merchandise including T-shirts and other clothing, books, gifts and cards.
We have used DesignCrowd for the past two years and received some amazing response from great designers around the world. I would like to thank DesignCrowd and everyone who has submitted a design. The designs we have already used have helped us raise more than $15,000 for our organisation.
We are again asking for your help to produce a design for clothing that is contemporary, creative and "cool".
We are looking for:
Designs that people will want to wear every day, not just to a protest march.
Something visual rather than text-based (although catchy messages will also be considered).
I will be eliminating designs that have birds or hands in them unless it is a really good design. Sorry, but we get a lot of designs with doves flying away or hands doing random things.
Designs that will appeal to different age groups.
Designs that take a risk and make a statement.
Winning designs may be used globally, taking your designs to the world!
I have provided links to our website, shop and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which may be useful for inspiration. I have also attached some images of the winning designs from the last two years.
I will be be viewing entries regularly and will provide as much feedback as I can.
I would like to thank you in advance for participating in this competition and helping Amnesty International promote our organisation through merchandise.
Regards,
Merchandise Manager

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for submitting designs for our competition, we have received a great response and really appreciate the support!!
Although we have received a couple of great designs, we have not yet received the three great designs that we are after to enable us to give a first, second and third prize.
I have extended the deadline by seven days and would love to get some fresh designs that will make it hard for me to choose the top three. If I have eliminated one of your designs, maybe have a look at what you initially entered and then go in a totally different direction.
Please remember that I will be avoiding birds and hands, so if you choose to include them in your design, make them look amazing or maybe just not choose the wingding's hand symbols.
I am sorry if it seems like I am a hard taskmaster, but a lot rides on these designs and I don't want to waste Amnesty's money by choosing designs that are average just because I didn't want to offend anyone. (I don't mean to offend anyone and if I have, I am sorry)
So, once again, thank you very much!!!!

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: Hey Everyone,
I have decided to extend the deadline for a few more days just to give everyone a little bit more time. I understand that it was just the Easter long weekend and that people would have been busy with family, so a few more days might give you a chance to submit a winning design.
I will give another update on the progress of designs and also post a couple of pictures that might help you get on the right track.
I would like to thank you all for submitting designs and for supporting Amnesty International Australia!!!

Here are a couple of phrases that might help you -

I plan on doing a bit of a blitz today and eliminating any designs that are outside the boundaries of what I am looking for. I will do my best to give some feedback, but there are still 70 designs in the running at the moment and I have some other work that needs to get done, so it may only be brief.

- The design does not have to include our logo, but the logo will be placed somewhere on the piece of clothing when it is printed, so it would be great if it can be in the design somewhere.
