Logo Design Brief
SeasonStixs are a patented new technology to spice and flavor meats. Typically meats are spiced and/or flavored using one of 2 methods. 1) marinades - which only penetrate 1/4 inch at most into the meat or 2) sprinkling from spices on the outside before or after cooking. This also does not penetrate the meat.
Seasoning Stixs use a technology where the spices are pressed into the form of a stick. The sticks are 2 inches long with a point on each end. The sticks are then inserted into the meat. At a pre-designated temperature as the meat is cooked, the ingredient that combines the spices it becomes an active. as the fibers of the meat open due to the application of heat, the spices are then absorbed directly into the meat. This is slicing the meat from the inside out.
The sticks looks similar to a wooden matchstick - but of course are made of solid spices. Approximately the same size. The sticks can be made of any type of spice that is required. Plain garlic will likely be the most popular, but any combination of spices can be used.
The process for manufacturing the sticks uses a very expensive modern machine, which produces sticks very quickly. There is certainly a degree of high technology in this new cooking product.
The process of utilizing the sticks is simple. Prior to cooking the pointed end of the stick is inserted into the meat. The cooking process then takes place as normal, but rubs, marinades, sauces are not needed as much because the splicing occurs within the meat.
I've attached some photos of what the sticks will look like - these are approximate and slightly wider than will actually be produced - due to limitations of the 3-D printer.
The sticks will be packaged in a jar similar to the spice jars or bottles found on store shelves. The attached photo shows a mockup of the jar. The labeling is not accurate. Stick are two inches long. The jar is about 2.75 inches tall.

Must have
- I feel it would be beneficial to have the tagline - Seasoning From the Inside Out as part of the design. However, it is perhaps too long of a phrase.
- This is a completely new product category, so if there is any way to convey how the product works or what it is within the logo. This would be beneficial.
Nice to have
- We had thought about a "stick figure" person with a chef's hat as a possible logotype. We had done some initial drawings, but then were concerned that it did not look sophisticated enough. He had sticks in one hand and a spatula in the other.
- It would nice to have something that would convey that this is something new. The way meet, fish, and poultry are seasoned has changed very little in 10,000 years. With the new technology that we have patented it is now possible to spice from the inside of the meat, rather than just sprinkling in on the outside.
