Web Design Brief
We are looking to have a design created for a midwife. This blog will be used to share information or experiences related to pregnancy, child birth and motherhood with its readership. It should convey a feeling of warmth and security to women who are looking for a partner in the birthing processes.
We are asking you to design the layout, not code it up. This is a concept project only.
NOtes from the midwife
So I'm just going to put in links to a few blogs and say what I like and don't like about each one:
lianemoriarty.com.au/blog/
I like how there is a colorful background that has to do with her books; maybe mine could have a background with baby stuff in the background. It's also nice how there's an index of recent postings with the subject listed and how the postings are sorted by date, all on the same page.
www.fearlessformulafeeder.com
I like that this one is set up like a website with tabs for resources, a bio, reader comments, etc.
newmomsneed.marchofdimes.org
This blog has a very calming color scheme, which is welcoming. I like that there's a picture for every posting, and that at the bottom of the posting there is a little glossary with the subjects that are covered in the posting. Also, I like the way that the date of each blog is done.
atyourcervix.blogspot.com
This one is really funny, and similar in intention to the one that I want to do. I like that she has a glossary of medical terms so that readers can look them up.
General comments:
I'm not sure how much RAMC wants their logo on my blog or in the blog name...
I would like to be able to vet comments before they appear on the blog, so that if there's an inappropriate one, I can screen it out.
I would also like to be able to see how many people have viewed the site.
