We need front and back labels for a honey jar. Files "Honey Jar Front Label 2" & "Honey Jar Back Label 2" show what I have come up with.
Files "Honey Jar Front Label 2". I did this as an example. It shows the information that needs to be included on the front label. The picture was taken by my daughter. The information and picture can be rearranged, enlarged, reduced, cropped, etc. as you see fit.
Files "Honey Jar Back Label 2". I did this one to play with the wording to get the information to fit. It explains how I keep bees. It can be worded differently as long as all the information is included.
I know nothing about good use of color, borders, backgrounds, font style and size, etc. so please excuse my plain presentations. I admire and respect your creative abilities very much.
Since my method of keeping bees involves a lot of travel time and expense, as mentioned in files "Honey Jar Back Label 2" I will try to price my honey a little higher than the competition so please design accordingly with that in mind.
We think we want to use a traditional jar with stick on labels like Gunter's jar seen in file Gunter's Jar. However, feel free to use a different jar as long as the honey can be easily scooped out with a spoon and does not have to be poured out. I know that eliminates a lot of fancy jars but that's what my customers want. Jar size should be 12 ounces which will hold a little more than 1 pound of honey.
Hanging labels are also acceptable therefore jar shapes that will not accept a stick on label can also be used. An example is a Honeypot Jar.
And of course we like Hexagon Jars which are 6 sided like the cells in honeycomb.
Please stick to glass jars that are readily available. No custom shaped jars for now.
Gunter's jar is clear glass and the metal lid is a light golden color.
It's probably a good idea for the shape of the labels to match the shape of the bottle like I marked in black on Gunter's Jar. Being wider in the middle should allow the back label to be shorter than my example seen in files "Honey Jar Back Label 2". I think front and back labels should be the same size.
The shape of the area marked in black around Gunther's label measures 1-1/4 (1.25) inches across the top, 2-1/4 (2.25) inches across the middle, 2 inches across the bottom and 3-1/2 (3.5) inches tall from top to bottom.
