I spent 15 years designing as a hobby before opening my own business, Designs by Kittn. Designs by Kittn specializes in Social Media Branding, but I am available for freelance graphic design. I use Photoshop as my preferred tool but I am also competent in other areas as well, including the use of Adobe Illustrator to design custom vectors. Currently I am studying for my Bachelor of Science Degree in Graphic Arts with an emphasis in Information Design at Independence University. The knowledge that I will gain over the next four years will be valuable to my success in the Graphic Design industry, and I look forward to enhancing the skills that I have learned along with building new ones. I began designing digital art when I was 13 years old after I received a copy of JASC Paint Shop Pro for a birthday present. Most of my talent and skills have been self-taught to this point, and the opportunity to learn from industry professionals is exciting. Information Design is already a large part of my life through my business, Designs by Kittn. Designs by Kittn specializes in advertising, logos, and social media branding. The Information Design emphasis will teach me lessons in attracting and maintaining attention from the targeted audiences. Courses that I will be required to take and consider beneficial to my future in the industry include Color Theory, Logo and Identity Design, Entrepreneurship, and a course in Critical Thinking will aide in my ability to solve common design difficulties. It is my hope that I will become a valuable contributor to the Graphic Arts industry both during my enrollment with Independence University and after graduation.
