While growing up in the 1980’s Matthew often found himself stimulated with the visual ideals and aesthetic images of the 60’ ...more      While growing up in the 1980’s Matthew often found himself stimulated with the visual ideals and aesthetic images of the 60’s and 70’s. Since first stumbling upon a stack of his grandmother’s books or aunt’s album covers he became intrigued with design and its primary elements. Matthew began to connect these influences to artists of the early 20 th Century and of the present day while studying design at Marshall University.      Matthew’s work focuses on subject matter such as human rights and environmental awareness. These are social issues of today and can be communicated just like the ones of the past. His process consists of digital compositions based on strong geometric shapes, often combined with layering effects and photomontage. By basing each composition on these past influences and principals a unique result is achieved that is juxtaposition to typical commercial design.     hide
